The one shop M.D. Automotive has worked out of since 1990 — right here in Sutherlin. Tell our assistant about your car and we'll tell you straight if it's a fit.
We're a small shop and we like it that way — so our assistant asks a couple quick questions before connecting you. It keeps the bay full of the work we do best, and it saves you a call if we're not the right fit.
Make, model, year, and what it's doing. Type it or just talk.
The right kind of work for the shop — takes a few seconds. A drive away is no problem.
You get the shop's number to call or text — straight to the bench. Everyone else gets pointed the right way, politely.

Foreign and domestic, cars and light trucks — the everyday repairs and maintenance that keep you on the road.
Not sure if we cover what you need? Just ask the assistant — it'll tell you straight.
M.D. Automotive has worked out of the same shop on Plat I Rd since 1990. Sutherlin was incorporated in 1911 and is now a town of about 8,500 — the second largest in Douglas County — and Mark and Debbie have been fixing its cars and trucks for more than thirty of those years.
It isn't a chain and it isn't a franchise bay. It's the one mechanic you get to know, in the town you live in. If you're in Sutherlin you aren't driving to the shop, you're coming around the corner — and during shop hours a real person picks up the phone.
511 Plat I Rd. Sutherlin has two I-5 exits and either one works: exit 136 is the Central Avenue interchange where Highway 138 comes in from Elkton, and exit 135 comes in on Comstock Rd off Old Highway 99. From either, you're a couple of minutes from the bench.
We'd rather you told us about the car first — it's a five-bay shop, and the assistant asks a couple of quick questions so we can tell you straight away whether it's a fit. That's a few seconds, and it saves you a wasted trip across town. Shop hours are weekdays 7am–4pm; we're closed weekends.
Both, foreign and domestic. Two exceptions worth knowing before you come: front-end work and clutches on trucks are the two jobs Mark doesn't take on, and he declines BMW, Mercedes, Audi and Jaguar — though a Mini is welcome even though BMW owns the brand.
A fair drive away? Come on by anyway — Mark works out of the one shop, so folks bring their vehicles to him. Just ask the assistant and you'll get the number either way.
